Moral Equivalence: Propaganda tool of the shallow and weak-minded.

In Conservatism by Staff Writer0 Comments

Really? Have we really become this shallow and superficial?Moral Equivalence: a term used in political debate, usually to criticize any denial that a moral hierarchy can be assessed of two sides in a conflict, or in the actions or tactics of two sides.

I saw this posted on another page and the implied moral equivalence disgusted me. The implication is that there is no difference between these two women,

  • A: An armed American free citizen willing to DEFEND life, liberty and even the religious freedom for those religions different than their own…; and
  • B: A religious extremists willing to KILL in order to establish the dominance of their religion and to subjugate the masses under its religious law.

To some, far too many I’m afraid, there is no difference that they can see. All they see is what is on the surface; a Gun, a Flag and a Religion. However, to anyone with working brain cells capable of more substantial critical thinking, the two could not be more different, even diametrically opposed. The shallow, asinine question “Is this how we want to be seen?” illustrates the very superficiality they operate under. Their entire thought process never ventures beyond what it “looks” like or how it makes them “feel”.

Did You Know: The Gun Debate Isn’t Even About Guns?

In Conservatism by Staff Writer0 Comments

The Gun DebateI often ask myself, why do we call it a gun debate in America? Gun Rights, Gun Control, Gun Culture, Gun Violence… The whole conversation isn’t even about guns. Guns are merely the shiny distraction that everyone focuses on, while the real debate boils just under the surface. When you take the word GUN out of it, you start to see the REAL debate; Rights, Control, Culture, Violence…

When people say “gun rights”, what they really mean is HUMAN rights. I have the natural human right to LIVE, to protect and preserve my life and the responsibility to protect the rights of those around me. When people say “gun control”, what they really mean is PEOPLE control. They want to control who is armed and with what level of self-protection. They want the power. When we speak of the “gun culture”, what we are really talking about is the AMERICAN culture. Despite the make up of our citizenry, mutts from around the world, America DOES have it’s own distinct and unique culture and values. Dennis Prager sums it up quite eloquently in his American Trinity which I highly recommend you watch. That brings us to “gun violence”, which really refers to the breakdown of our society as a whole.

One of the supporters of Cold Dead Hands, is also involved in an important Texas House Rep election, and would like to share some insight as well as advice on how to help elect candidates that will help restore our Constitution to power, as well as share what is at stake in the race they are involved in. While this is geared for Texas, it is advice that can easily be applied to any of our state and national elections. Its time for all Patriots to get armed and get in the fight. Parenting in a Hostile Society

In Conservatism by Staff Writer0 Comments

There has been a lot going on lately that has drawn my attention to raising kids in what has become an ever-increasingly hostile society. I posted recently on my Facebook page, Jon Britton aka Doubletap, some positive things that could be taken from the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case that got a lot of feedback. It was aimed at raising kids in this society and what lessons can be learned from the life and death of Trayvon Martin. Unfortunately most of those who commented on it simply wanted to retry the case rather than discuss lessons learned and society’s impact. Kids have been a focal point in the ongoing gun debate as well. Cold Dead Hands started Team CDH to bring attention to proper firearms training for kids, to present some good role models for kids and to help these junior shooters to achieve their full potential through sponsorship. Working with these junior shooters has made it very clear what role good parenting plays in producing such awesome kids.
